ブログログイン時に試行回数制限設定に引っかかる話

ダッシュボードにログインする場合にブラウザがオートコンプリートと言う機能で

記憶していますので都度IDパスワードを打ち込む事は殆ど有りません。

パスワードの保存は、良くてパソコン内のExcelなどのアプリケーションなどに

保存しておく事が多いと思います。なかには紙ベースのものに控えておく人がいるでしょうが、

それはごく僅かでしょう。わたしは同一パソコンの中に保存しているほうでした。

そのため普段使う可能性のあるIDパスワードを順番に試すという作業をしていると、

ログイン画面に「試行回数を超えましたのでサーバー管理者にお問い合わせ…」

という文言が表示されるようになりました。セキュリティーのための試行回数制限を超えて

試してしまったようです。これを解除するにはレンタルサーバー、エックスサーバーの、

Web上のコントロールパネル（インフォパネルでなくサーバーパネル）上で

解除しなければなりません。しかしそれを解除してもサーバーパネルの試行回数制限が

オンからオフに切り替わらないのです。Mac機、Windows機でも同じです。

多分エックスサーバー側の不具合な仕様でしょう。更に突っ込んでサポートに聞くと、

接続権限（パーミッション）を一段階下げてもセキュリティー上支障ないので

下げてほしいとのことでした。この時点でもFTPパスワードがわかりませんので、

管理会社経由でパーミッションを変更してもらいました。

多分脆弱性の関係でしょう、アプリケーションをインストール時にOSの再インストールを

要求される画面にどうして戻ってしまう。という現象になりました。以前のDVDからの

起動でしたらどうにかなりますが、いまではネットブートですからどうにもなりませんので、

Appleに送って修理してもらいました。ハードディスク交換 + OS再インストールで戻りました。

データは例によってタイムマシンから復旧するわけです。これには何度も助けられています。
